Today, I will tell you about our favorite beach village on the island of Bali. It’s a village located in the southeast of the island called Padang Bay. It is one of the few villages in Bali where you can live almost right by the sea, within walking distance of the beach. Padang Bay village is rich in three beautiful beaches:

Bias Tugal Beach – the most beautiful beach in Bali,

Blue Lagoon Beach,

and Kusamba Beach.

One of these beaches, Bias Tugel, made it into our list of the best beaches in Bali. Now I will tell you more about each of the beaches in Padang Bay village.

Bias Tugal Beach.

We fell in love with this small picturesque beach, Bias Tugal Beach, from our very first visit to the island. It was also known as the “secret beach” in the past, but now the locals call it the “white sand beach,” confusing tourists with different names. Do you remember I recently told you about the beautiful Virgin Beach near Amlapura? It was previously called White Sand Beach, and most tourists still remember it by that name. What can I say, the islanders decided to completely confuse tourists. To avoid confusion, I suggest using the local names for the beaches (if possible), then Google will accurately show their location.

How to get there: Google coordinates of the beach -8.536119, 115.508977.

Nearby hotels: We stayed near the secret beach at “Villa Lantur” guesthouse, which has 5 rooms with kitchens. Usually, a couple of rooms are available (cost is 250 per day). On the same street, there are about five budget hotels that are not listed in the booking system. Look for them around -8.538836, 115.504066.

Blue Lagoon Beach. Another beach in Padang Bai with corals on the shore, making it more suitable for snorkeling. There is a small sandy corridor where people wade into the water and try to swim. I do not recommend doing this when there are big waves. The shore of the blue lagoon is sandy, but the beach itself is small, about 500-600 meters. You can find souvenir vendors and massage therapists offering beachside massages.

Infrastructure in Padang Bai: There are no large stores in Padang Bai, but you can find several grocery shops near the port, and there is a market that operates in the mornings. The nearest grocery supermarket is located in Amlapura or near Keramas Beach.
