Dusun Kuning Waterfall (Air Terjun Dusun Kuning) bears the name ‘Dusun Kuning,’ where ‘Kuning’ means ‘yellow,’ and ‘Dusun’ translates to ‘village.’ Overall, the waterfall is named after the village where it’s located, aptly called Bali Kuning or the Yellow Village. For me, ‘kuning’ instantly conjures images of the wonderful ‘Kuningan’ holiday, where people send their ancestral spirits home and eat yellow rice. The waterfall is strong and inspiring. Yaroslava and I admired and interacted with it, while Sasha swam in the lagoon and stood beneath its powerful streams. As it turned out, the waterfall enjoyed our company too—smiling, joking, and not wanting to let go. We might return to it, I suppose! Highlights: You begin with a good path through the forest that gradually turns into rock steps closer to the waterfall, with occasional slippery spots. There’s not much space near the waterfall; a small platform amidst the rocks serves as a vantage point in the middle of the waterfall. To take a swim, you need to climb down the rocks. The bathing lagoon is small.
